My name is James Wilkinson and I am an independent theater artist that works in the greater Boston area. I started this blog as a way to help promote/discuss the work that's being done in the Boston theater community.
Here's my official bio:
James Wilkinson graduated from Trinity College (Hartford) in 2010. Post-college, he worked extensively on the North Shore in a variety of backstage capacities. In 2014, he co-founded Exiled Theatre with his partner-in-crime, Teri Incampo, and the two set about unleashing their theatrical sensibilities on the Boston theater community. As a director, James helmed Exiled’s productions of Ashes to Ashes, The Wasteland, and She Looks Good in Black. As a playwright, he wrote Exiled’s first production, Strange Days: five tales concerning dark paths, odd mercies and birthday cake and he wrote the most recent Exiled production, Nurse Play. Nurse Play was also nominated for a 2018 Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) award for Best New Play. His short plays have also been featured in the Boston Theater Marathon, Salem Theatre Company’s Moments of Play and Roxbury Repertory Theatre's Six Playwrights in Search of a Stage. James also works as a rogue theatre critic as the founder of Bostonstagenotes.com. His reviews also appear on Theatermirror.net and Edge Media Network.
His plays can be read on New Play Exchange, HERE
